Types of China Visas

For tourism, you will most likely need an L Visa, available as single, double, or multiple entry.

Required Documents

1. Passport: Valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates with at least 2 blank pages
2. Completed Application Form: Fill out the online form at the Chinese embassy website for your country
3. Passport Photo: Recent, white background, 48mm x 33mm
4. Flight Itinerary: Round-trip booking confirmation

Transit Without Visa (TWOV)

China offers visa-free transit for travelers passing through select cities:

• 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit: Available in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and other major cities. You can explore the designated area for up to 6 days.
• 72-Hour Transit: Available in additional cities including Changsha, Harbin, and Guilin.
• Requirements: You must have a confirmed onward ticket to a third country (not the one you arrived from) and stay within the permitted area.
